IDB Showcases Haitian Arts in Washington

Thirty nine exceptional Haitian art pieces, ranging from paintings to culptures and photographs are displayed at the American International Bank galery in Washington. The exhibit, which opened last august, will run until Oct. 26. The art pieces were carefully chosen as to reveal aesthetic variances of artists for the Caribbean nations that speak french, English, and Spanish.

The Haitian art pieces took up an entire wall in IDB Gallery where the exhibit is devoted to work by Castera Bazile, Wilson Bigaud, Dieudonné Cédor, Jacques-Enguerrand Gourgue and Gabriel Levêque, who are all artists that have impacted the haitian renaissance period during the 1940's.

It's the biggest and one of the most diverse exhibits out of Haiti
